Eric Cooley Enjoys Career Weekend at Magnolia State 100

Fulton, MS (09/27/11) –Eric Cooley drove his #33c Victory Circle by Moyer/Jeff Burns Racing Engine Super Late Model to a third place finish over the weekend in the South's biggest paying race, the 22nd Annual Magnolia State 100

The weekend was a great outing for Eric Cooley as he not only entered the 22nd Annual Premier Ford Magnolia State 100 in a Super Late Model for the first time, but he also raced his entry to a third place finish in the main event.

Fifty-three cars entered the event, and Eric started the weekend by qualifying fourth fastest in his group to earn the fourth starting spot for his heat race. In the heat he battled to a third place finish to earn the 15th starting spot for Saturday night's 100 lap, $20,011-to-win finale.
In the feature on Saturday night Cooley would dodge several early cautions before the race began to endure some long green flag runs. As the race progressed Cooley methodically worked his way forward, and by the time that the checkered flag fell, the talented young driver would be credited with a third place finish behind race winner, Billy Moyer, and Bub McCool. Not only did it mark Eric's first start in the coveted event, but to also come away with a third place finish was a huge accomplishment and gives the team momentum heading into the late season specials.

"This just seems like a dream. To not only make this race in my first try, but to finish third against a field of cars like this and behind Moyer and McCool. I'm just waiting to wake up any minute," laughed Cooley.
