OK guys and girls what spindle has a bolt on steering arm besides the old chevy trucks, something that would be able to use a small rotor perhaps its a ford?I can't get close enough to look at it but the car that is running them has really been fast and its on a metric stub got any idea's?
Thanks

Your gonna laugh but the old AMC Pacer and Javelin used a bolt on steering arm.The same ones people use to make trailer axles. They work pretty good on metric cars with metric or nova lowers. They are getting harder to find but still pretyy common in most yards that have older stuff from the 70's.The pacer also used disc brakes

the arm that the tie rod bolts to, it attaches to the spindle with two bolts Howe racing made them for years and may still make them I was more curious about the height of the spindle and the pin height if I can find out what it is.

I believe the race car you were looking at was redone by Mark Bush who runs the RaceWise Chassis Schools.

The Howe cast spindle used a 12' big GM rotor and an Olds caliper bracket. Early 60's Corvettes had a bolt on steering arm. Back in the 70's and 80's John Benson Sr. used Corvette steering arms, and a 70 Impala spindle (70 only) to make a very good race spindle. The lower ball joint eye had to be cut off, turned over and rewelded. Several of the Fords had a tall spindle with bolt on arms. Interested to see if anyone else is running this style spindle. The early Camaro and Chevelle spindle are very short .
