Schedule of Events for “The Ultimate” Features 3 Sessions of Action!
(Mars, PA) The Hesston Speedway has released the schedule of events for its biggest event ever, “The Ultimate,” presented by G & R Excavating & Demolition and Frankland Racing Supply on October 21-22. PA’s mammoth fall tradition continues in full format in 2011 at Hesston featuring the UFo Super Late Models racing for a total of $10,000 to win in “The Ultimate” and “Mega-Blitz Mach1.” The Semi-Lates (limited/crate/steel block late models), B-Cadets (street/pro-stock), Hobby-Modified (pure stock/charger) and Roadrunners (stock fwd 4-cylinder) will compete in the “Challenger Super Championships” to determine who is the top driver in the region in each of these classes. The event schedule will include 3 sessions of racing over 2 days.
The weekend will kick off on Friday, night October 21 with “Mega-Blitz Mach1.” The Super Late Models will compete in a ful racing program with a 30-lap feature paying $2,000 to win and $250 to start, with $100 for non-qualifiers plus a $75 Frankland Racing Supply gift card to the top 25 non-qualifiers. While the event will use UFo car rules and procedures, it will not award UFo points. 1 UFo provisional will start the feature. The UFo Semi-Lates and B-Cadets will race in their qualifying heat races to determine the starting grid for the features and consolations on Saturday. The Roadrunners will compete in their full racing program with a 22-lap Super Championship feature paying $400 to win.
On Saturday night, October 22, “The Ultimate” comes to Hesston. The UFo Super Late Models will compete in their final point race of the year, with a full racing program. The 61-lap UFo Super Late Model feature will pay $8,000 to win and $500 to start. Non-qualifiers will receive $150 for Saturday plus a $75 Frankland Racing Supply gift card to the top 25 non-qualifiers that did not receive a card on Friday. Feature start money for “The Ultimate” was increased with sponsorship from G & R Excavating & Demolition.
UFo Semi-Lates and B-Cadets will race in their consolation and features on Saturday. The 44-lap UFo Semi-Late Super Championship will pay $2,000 to win and $200 to start. Semi-Late 2-day non-qualifiers will receive $100 plus a $75 Frankland Racing Supply gift card to the top 25 that do not make the feature. The 33-lap B-Cadet Super Championship feature will pay $1,200 to win, $140 to start, with 2-day non-qualifiers receiving $75. The Hobby-Modifieds will race in their full racing program with a 22-lap Super Championship paying $700 to win.
Saturday’s order of events will include a unique 2-session program that was used at “The Ultimate” when it was at Chalelnger. This 2-session program enables fans to choose what amount of racing they want to see. Hobby-Modified heats and consolations and Semi-Late and B-Cadet consolations will take place at 3:00 PM. The Super Late Models will take to the track approximately 6:00 PM at sundown and after full track prep. Hard core Super Late Model fans may take their seats when the Super Late Model session begins, and fans of all divisions may come early for a huge day of racing. Those that wish to only see the 2nd session will be able to save their seats anytime after the gates open or take advantage of top row reserved seating for the event.
In case of a rain out on Friday, October 21, a 1-day alternative racing program will be run. This alternative program will pay UFo Super Late Models $8,000 to win, UFo Semi-Lates $1,400, B-Cadets $850 and Hobby-Modifieds $700.

Camping will be free and campers will be able to camp inside the gates in the back straight viewing ramp area. Additional camping will be available at the intersection of Redstone Ridge Road and Race Track Road, at Eriksen Well Drilling.

The 61 lap feature is representative of 1961, the year Hesston opened and the 91 total feature laps is a reference to the year Challenger opened, 1991. Previous winners of “The Ultimate” include Jason Covert of Lock Haven, PA in 2011 at Roaring Knob, Bart Hartman of Zanesville, OH in 2010 at PPMS, Jimmy Mars of Menomonie, WI in 2008 at Challenger and Billy Drake of Bloomington, IN in 2008 at Challenger. “The Ultimate” is known for outstanding racing action with the winner’s average starting position being 14th. Covert won from 10th on the grid, Hartman from 20th, Mars from 12th and Drake from 15th.
Ticket prices for “Mega-Blitz Mach-1” on Friday October 21 will be $18 for adults, $12 for juniors 10-16 and $32 for all pit tickets. Prices for “The Ultimate” on Saturday, October 22 will be $25 for adults, $15 for juniors 10-16 and $35 for all pit tickets.
