Tri-County Race Track Concludes 2011 Season with Demolition Derby on October 22

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Following a successful ‘Tarheel 50’ program last week at the Tri-County Race Track, the Brasstown, North Carolina facility will wrap up their 2011 schedule on Saturday, October 22. A Demolition Derby is planned on October 22 with a special set of rules and a lucrative payoff to the winner. The first segment of the Demolition Derby, which pays $200 to win, will be 25 laps in length and will run in the normal direction around the 1/4-mile track.

A $300 top prize will then be on the line in the second segment of the Demolition Derby in which the cars will run 25 laps in the opposite direction around the track. After fifty circuits of racing, the cars can run any direction on the track that they wish until only one car is left running. Based on a 20 car field, a $1,000 winner’s check will be given to the victor of the 2011 Demolition Derby at Tri-County on Saturday, October 22. There is a $40 entry fee for those entering a car into the Demo Derby.

Also on the card will be the Limited/Crate Late Model, Interstate Welding Modified Hobby, Street Enduro, and Pony classes. Super Late Models will not be in action at Tri-County in the season finale. Each of the four classes will be running for regular purses, but there will also be a King of the Hill Challenge race for the Limited/Crate Late Models. The Limited King of the Hill winner will receive an extra $300, while the Crate King of the Hill winner will get an extra $200 bonus.

In addition to the Demolition Derby and the four racing divisions, promoter Ray Cook will be awarding the 2011 Track Champions their prizes and trophies. Gates will open on Saturday, October 22 at 1:00 p.m., while the drivers meeting is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and racing at 4:00 p.m. Grandstand admission will be $12.00 for adults, $5.00 for kids ages 6-12, and children five and under will be admitted for free.
