J- Bar ?

i wondering if there a advantage or disadvantage of the 3 1/2" to the 5 1/2" bend in a j-bar and if not what is the difference in the two? i think its just for more clearance over the drive shaft but I'm not sure so any info would be great thanks guys.

yes thats the only difference, the drop doesn't change the effective length.I did fold up one of speedways'5" inch drop chrome moly j bars just by slamming the cushion...expensive little incident....
