Does wheel base have anything to do with weather you have a metric chassis or not

Does wheel base have anything to do with weather you have a metric chassis or notA metric will be 108" WB. But guys modify chassis all the time. I used to run 74-77 monte carlo frames cut down from 115" to 108". Ive also seen some shorten metrics down to 104". What do you (think) you have?

I have a 77 regal it's set up like a mid 80s Monte so that makes it metric right wheel base is 115

With a 115" wheelbase, as Dirtman pointed out, you likely DO NOT have a metric. I suppose one may have lengthened the wheelbase, but why? This larger frame/wheelbase is often referred to as the "Chevelle."

"big gm" is most likely an A body, which covered pretty much every gm car all thru the 70s

metric cars are 1978-1988 monte, malibu, elcamino, grand prix, regal, cutlass, boneville, caballero, lemans and thats just off the top of my head, there were a few canadian metric "g-body" cars as well, i also think there was a caddy model, but if its older than 78 its not a metric

its a A body frame,..lot better than a metric when set up right!! an take less $$$ to set it up than a metric,..plenty of parts availability too!! id cut it down to as short as wheel base rules allow!!
