what do they change on the cars to make the wide rf update? And does it help the car handle any better?

idk if its how rocket does it, but we keep the same upper and space it out 1" and go with an inch longer lower.

we did this on our shaw chassis and found that with the same shock spring combo as the base setup the car was tighter on entry and loosened on exit. we upped the spring one weight from 375 to 400 and the car was still snug on entry and exit was tightened by the spring. i personally liked this setup. but if the track had a ton of traction, we would go back to the base setup. we just kept all the parts to change everything back handy and within 15 minutes we can change it back over. another thing we noticed was that when we went to the wider setup the car like more toe. we would go from about 1/4" to 1/2" when we went to the wider setup.

a guy next to us instead of spacing the upper arm he just put one that was an inch longer on the car. made spacing it out alot easier.

Rocket does not do it that way, you use the same upper and lower but they have a bracket kit to remount the lower arm and shock mount an inch out . I crew chief a car and this is how we run it all the time we are able to run a little stiffer spring than other rocket cars but still get down on the RF really well .
