CHILLICOTHE, OHIO-Oh what a night it would have been! With 42 powerful late models from five states and 40 modifieds in the pits, what looked to be a stellar night of racing turned sour and ended with a pop-up shower and rain-out. The race will now be Nov. 5, 2011 Overall, over 100 cars were in the pit area.
The Trick or Treat 50 for Topless Late Models at Atomic Speedway, Chillicothe, Ohio has been postponed to Nov. 5 with earlier start times. The powerful Late Models will line up for a hefty pay-off and a whopping $5000 to win! Last year, the topless race was a hit for both racers and race fans. The race pays $400 to start and as seen from the line-up on hand drew interest from several big-name drivers in the region. Jackie Boggs had set fast time of 13:775 of the 42 cars on hand.
Promotoer/Owner Jeff Schrader said, "After the rain hit and facing a forecast of below freezing fog, and freezing temperatures, there was just no way the track was going to dry out. I consulted with our race director Scott Wolfe and with his year's of experience, he felt the same way."
"With all the mud we already had in the pits, we had a great concern of getting cars out of the pits quickly and safely. Another concern many of the drivers had earlier in the night was to get the show in quickly before the freezing temperatures came. Their concern was the running of expensive aluminum motors in near freezing weather. Plus, there was no need to keep fans and crews waiting when the outcome was not favorable."
"On the positive side, wow, wasn't it going to be a great evening of racing. We wanted to get this race in badly. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us. I invite everyone to come back next week and fans--you won't be disappointed."
Also on the agenda Nov. 5 are the Advanced Services AMRA Modifieds and the Hobby Stocks.
Racing will start a an hour earlier this week because of the cool nights and early darkness. Pit gates open at 2:30 p.m and general admission gates at 3:00.

Late Models and Modifieds will time trial. Late Models will have an open tire rule and body specs under AMRA which are nearly identical to all other sanctions--minus the roof. All Late Model cars must be topless with no roof whatsoever. Late Models must have an 8" spoiler no higher in the back than allowable by AMRA rules. No juiced tires.
Modifieds with roofs will race under the AMRA banner although no temporary permits or license fees are necessary because all points have ended for the season. All cars passing inspection at the DTWC will be eligible to run as well as other newcomers. AMRA Hoosier legal tires only. Raceceivers are required in all classes.
Atomic will also have an enduro Nov. 12 and also run go-karts that day. The swap meet has been cancelled for Nov. 12 in lieu of a go-kart racing special. The Kart race is tentatively set Nov. 12th for 12 noon. Gates will open at 9am with racing at 12 noon. There will be no swap meet this year.
Fans that cannot make it back Saturday, Nov. 5 can mail in armbands/tickets to:
