Green Flag Flies for Virtual Dirt Track Classic Voting

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – DirtTour.com’s Virtual Dirt Track Classic is an event like no other. Drivers from across the country will compete, but instead of horsepower propelling them to the finish line, it’s fan power.

Fans vote for their favorite drivers to help them advance to the VDTC Victory Lane. Voting begins today (Monday, Nov. 7) at www.DirtTour.com.

“It’s just something fun we wanted to do during the dirt track racing off-season,” commented DirtTour.com’s Bucky Doren. “This event pits drivers from all corners of the country against each other.”

“IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks are on this year’s racing card,” he continued. “The fans get to help the driver they cheer for to the win via their votes.”

Drivers made the list based on various IMCA national, regional, and Allstar Performance State point standings. Several special events and series were also used to determine the 2011 Virtual Dirt Track Classic field.

Seventy Modified teams will compete for the 2011 title and they will serve as the headlining class. Forty Stock Car drivers will fill the virtual pit area. Twenty-seven SportMods and Hobby Stocks complete the rest of the field.

Fans can vote for their favorite drivers through a series of heats, “B” features and eventually the main event. They will be able to once per day throughout the entire competition.

The Stock Cars, SportMods, and Hobby Stocks got things started Nov. 7. The Modifieds will start their quest for the title on Nov. 14.

“What will be tough is who to vote for,” said Doren. “Everyone will be able to vote once per day, but they can only vote for one driver in each heat race. All four fields are loaded with superstars.”
