The SE/ME Tour of the FASTRAK Racing Series is glad to announce a full and premier schedule for the upcoming 2012 season. The events include many special memorial events plus FASTRAK will once again make its way back to Eldora Speedway on June 30th. With a 22 race schedule it’s going to be a busy year for all involved.
The "Pro Late Model Nationals" will once again be back in effect at Wythe Raceway over Labor Day Weekend. FASTRAK will make its first ever trip to Beckley Motor Speedway in WV in which will be a $20,000 double header with Thunder Mountain Speedway on Saturday night.
The Triple Crown will still be in effect for 2012 as it has always been a tremendous hit for the fans and teams alike. Toccoa Speedway will be on the schedule twice in 2012 adding a new venue for the series.
Cleveland County Speedway will host several Memorial events with FASTRAK including that of Karey Headmer, Preston Humphries and the 2nd annual Bill Hendren Memorial.
The Series made its first trip to West Virginias Thunder Mountain Speedway in 2011 and it was such a huge hit with the fans and teams Thunder Mountain has added one event for a double header weekend with Beckley Motor Speedway. PLUS the tow day event in August has been moved up a couple of weeks to formulate crate late model racings own version of the "North/South Championship".
The series will makes its way back to Volunteer Speedway home of the 2011 Grand Nationals for a high banked hammer down show. Hartwell Speedway will continue to be the home of the 2nd annual "Charlie Mize Memorial". FASTRAK will make it's way to 2 touring events at Mike Fulps 311 Speedway.
Plus the National Championship will be re-tagged the "The World Championship" in 2012. No more night 1 saving all the teams an estimated $1000. The new "World Championship" will be a two night affair with 2 paying main events on the first night (Friday). Saturday will being about the first ever World Championship plus the newly formed "World Challenge". The top 5 teams from each weekly track will be qualified to participate in this event thereby giving the weekly track members their "own" National Championship in which to win.
PLUS THE GREATEST NEWS OF ALL! Both night of the newly formed WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP will be televised for the first time in the history of the series. With 2 hours of coverage each night, series Officials expect additional sponsorship for both the FASTRAK teams and the series itself.
"I am very happy with what we are seeing already for the upcoming 2012 racing season" said Stan Lester of the series. 22 events are more than we have had in some time. Our sponsors and teams are really going to get their money’s worth this year. I am very proud of the new schedule. Our tracks have done very well with FASTRAK late model events and the demand for FASTRAK events has increased significantly".
Lester said “the new television deal is going to be the biggest hit of all for 2012. Teams like ours don’t normally get the opportunity to race on television in front of millions of race fans but this year they will get that opportunity. What a season this is going to be"!
