602 crate in mod

This has probably been discussed before, but how would a 602 stack up in ump competition? Does ump still give a weight break for crate engines? I found a great deal on one but dont know if I would be waisting money. I ran fairly well with one in a latemodel against opens on slick tracks but never in a mod. Any help would be appreciated.

No weight break and you would be wasting your money. I also use to run crates and have found to run competitively in mods you need 550 to 700 hp. Seems like that 650 to 700 numbwer is pretty ideal if it is drivable. Hopefully ump will do something about the cost of engines besides taking off the spoilers. Good luck with your racing!
