FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Volunteer STARS and Bluegrass STARS/MDRL shut down operations immediately

SOMERSET, KY (December 28, 2011)—After careful consideration, the Volunteer STARS Racing Series (after two seasons) and the Bluegrass STARS Racing Series (after one season) under MDRL banner will cease operations immediately.

'It was a difficult decision on my part but felt it best' stated Series Director Chris Tilley. 'With all of the events being held by tracks in both areas for 2012, it should substantiate good purses for the drivers,' stated Tilley again.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Carl Short of STARS for lending us his awesome name which still means a lot to me and the racing community. I also want to thank Gerald Newton of Arizona Sport Shirts for all his help and friendship as well over the years as well as Gar (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)son and Timmy Millwood for their support during the first VRS season.

I want to take this time to thank the drivers who participated in events held, as well as the tracks and their employees, series officials for all their hard work and dedication and most of all the great race fans who showed support of both series.

I will still continue with Ray Cook's Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series as their announcer for the 2012 season.

The Banquets scheduled for each series (Volunteer January 7th) and MDRL (January 14th) will continue as scheduled and small points fund monies promised will be paid as promised but drivers must attend Banquets to receive their monies.
