Jimmy Mars to Kick Off 2012 Campaign at USA Raceway!
(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Following an eleven win year in 2011, Jimmy Mars will look to continue those winning ways when he kicks off his 2012 campaign this weekend at the USA Raceway in Tucson, Arizona! For the third straight year, Jimmy will compete in the ‘Wild West Shootout’ in Tucson from January 14-22. This year’s version of the six-race miniseries will feature four $3,000 to win events, one $5,000 to win program, and a $10,000 to win finale on Sunday, January 22.
During his last two stints at the USA Raceway, Jimmy has competed in ten feature events and has recorded two victories, both of which came back in 2010. Even more remarkable, Jimmy’s consistent efforts out west have produced nine Top Five finishes in those ten races. The Menomonie, Wisconsin ace looks to have similar success in Tucson during this trip, which starts with an open practice session this Friday night. “I am really looking forward to getting out to USA Raceway and starting our 2012 season,” commented Mars earlier today. “The racing is usually pretty good out there and it is a great place to learn some things about your racecar. Being at the same place for six straight races, you get a chance to work on your stuff and really try some different things on the same track with similar track conditions. Of course, we want to go out there and win a couple of races and run up front each night, but we also want to get a head start for the rest of the season.”
