That is cool ! However i would like to achieve this without having a flat . Is there a good shock, spring, weight combo that will do this with a 500 hp engine ?

IMCA Southern sport mod, stock GM 7.5, shock and spring locations

300lbs of LR, 450 RF spring, 200RR spring, nothing special with the shocks, just standard bilsteins
Left spring dont matter, had to add 3" extension to LR shock bolts
this is a 2350lb car, maybe 600 horsepower

Yes i seen cars 3 wheeling for the past few years at our tracks around central Texas. Who is the fastest ?? based on what i seen i would say IN MY OPINION its about 50 / 50 with all stock suspension on the Metric cars. I would say the fastest are the Metric cars with the left front tire just coming off the ground barely in the corner, JMO.

as a general racing opinion..if you watch how the late models behave, is a sign of what is "generally" working. They went through their days of hanging the LF a foot in the air, but look where they are now. Bloomer set our track record with all 4 on the ground keeping it pinned on a big 1/2 mile. As for metric cars go, I run what most call a traditional setup, and the LF is "dancing" as they say, its most on the ground or just barely getting some air. I'd say the majority of the fellas on here would agree. just fuel for thought..

Ed Dixon, my childhood hero, told me that it is easier to roll a tire than it is to pick it up. He said that after I carried one off of the trailer.

Kind of makes you think.

Looks like a flat rr tire to me is the secret! 600hp from a 9-1 350 with smogger heads?

No flat tire....

Do you think the RR could be in the rut seen behind the LR. Thats why it appers flat in my opinion.

i posted in response the "could it be done with a stock rear set up" clearly more horsepower would do it, and the power to weight combo is huge too, but thats not really what was asked.
those who "want" to believe the tire has 15psi could verify by watching the car roll on the video i posted. simple as that really. theres no way the car would have handled like it did on a tacky track with a flat tire...or even low for that matter!
but its cool, i didnt post it to satisfy you

It is clear in the video that the tire is not flat. I have had my sportmod setup like this and did not like it. The post above is correct where the guy said about 300lbs of bite. I actually found this out by accident. LOL. You put a ton of left rear in the car and it will 3 wheel. Hughs who build your motors? I want one of those. I have been racing sportmods since 2005 and have never heard of a sportmod motor making 600hp. More in the area of 350-400hp.

Spreen motors out of Boerne tx...pricey and a pretty lengthy turn around, but some bad power

Yea, it wasn't an imca race, just simple engine rules and that track is less than 50miles from spreens place. Lot of guys running his stuff.

I was going to say that there are NO legal IMCA Northern Sport Mods that have close to that power...360", 4412, 9:1 engines...LOL

Guys that race usmts all run with a jacked up front left wheel..... NOT!!! unbalanced setups arent consistent. I never want my lf in the air specially in a stock car!! Might look cool but hasnt been fast for years really

I watched Kenny shrader race his mod at Hartford last year and this car was glued to the ground the whole night. The trend seems to be a neutral setup with 4 tires on the ground at all times. No crazy 3 wheeling or huge power slides. Not saying you can't win hanging the tires but it's just more for the fans than actually making speed. Spinning ain't winning!
