Just got one also,I guess have the hood in place and maybe the bumper to line up the side pieces, watch so you do not exceed what ever the rules are for nose length
and clearance to ground.FYI my bumper will be under the nose.

If your running IMCA, it's illegal to have the bumper under the nose.

"Nose piece must remain within the confines of the bumper" Maybe I was interpreting what you said wrong. When you say under nose, do you mean below the nose? Or behind the nose like a late model bumper??

i actualy talked with IMCA reps on this one , the bumper has to be on the outside of the md3 , the leading edge can go up to a 1/2 inch past the front of the bumper < you can mount the metal bumper from the sides or the front of the frame horns , i have a metric clipped car to make things complex , im going to be mounting my bumper to the front of the horns , i was hoping to find someone with the crazy idea i had , so i could fine tune the mounting and triming of it .

The way I would do it in your instance Rob, would be cut slots in the nose for the bumper to mount and then extend the outsides of the bumper to wrap around the sides of the nose.

That nose won't last very long w the bumper behind...especially w that driver behind the wheel!

Might as well just widen the hood and make it a late model....

According to USMTS rules, the nose has to be behind the bumper also......

4.17 Nose may not extend past front bumper and must be a minimum of five (5) inches above the ground.

Also curious why the are disallowing a 2" riser on the back of the hood. IMCA allows it this year!

4.8 Reverse hood rake is not allowed. Hood must be level or slope forward toward nose of racecar. Back of hood must be flush to decking (no step downs).

imca allows nose to be within .5" outside confines of front bumper. If you build your bumper to fit exact behind the nose, youll be within the rule and can run the nose outside

IMCA came by the BSB booth at the IMIS show and said the nose has to be inside the bumper on the sides. the bottom of the nose can stick past the bumper but the bumper has to mount on the outside through the side of the frame like on a harris or grt car. anyone with a bumper mounted to the front of the stub rather than the side will have to change.

Im not sure who said this from IMCA but i actualy talked to the gentlmen incharge of rules , thats not what he said , his statement was the (metal) bumper can mount front , side , top or bottom as long as the md3 is inside the confines of the bumper the only lead way they give is a 1/2 of the bottom lip . i have a feeling this is going to be an isue for quite some time , im not worried about it at this point .
