Ray Cook and D&R Motorsports Set to Tackle Boyd’s Speedway this Weekend!
(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Three weeks after capturing the $6,000 top prize in the prestigious ‘Ice Bowl’ at Talladega (AL) Short Track to kick-off his 2012 campaign, Ray Cook will gun for his second straight win this upcoming weekend in the annual ‘Cabin Fever 40’ at the Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia. An open practice session will be held on Friday night, January 27, while the one-day program at the Chattanooga area venue is scheduled for Saturday afternoon. A $3,000 winner’s check is on the line in this year’s version of the ‘Cabin Fever 40.’ Additional information can be viewed online at www.boydsspeedway.net.
“Hopefully the weather holds out for this weekend and we can get the race in the books,” quoted Cook today when asked about the ‘Cabin Fever 40,’ which was postponed by inclement weather on January 21. “We have had some good fortune at Boyd’s in the past and we hope that will continue this weekend. We are bringing the same car that we ran at Talladega Short Track a couple of weeks ago and maybe we can go two-for-two on the year. That would be a great start for us, as we get ready for Speedweeks at Screven and East Bay!”
Ray reached victory lane in this event back in 2009 and finished second last year to winner Ronnie Johnson. The ‘Cabin Fever 40’ at Boyd’s this weekend will start a busy stretch for the D&R Motorsports team. You can watch Ray and the #53 team in action in the following races in the upcoming weeks:
