We've had great success with Extreme Mufflers. They are in Ventura CA and they have first hand knowledge of the noise situation that many face. Ran them on the dyno vs. open and saw 2 hp difference with a 820 HP DLM engine. Actually picked up a little on the torque side....

I like Extreme because here in CA we have some tracks that are very strict with 95 db @ 50 feet. There is an asphalt track in Sacramento that is 85 db @ 50ft and Extreme makes stuff that can pass the stringent sound tests and not cut HP...I know in the mid west, some of the stuff that passes for mufflers would get you put right back on the trailer and sent home out here...

Like I posted earlier, we met a 95 db @ 50 foot limit with basically zero loss, and they're not that expensive...

We ran the Dirt Pro, it ran well for several seasons and not one issue including no rust. It got broken off and ran over by the feild and was still round and went right back on. Our car is even on their web site, the 17ss on the crate page.
