Rain on the way and a terrible forecast caused a one-week postponement of the event. Bright side? Speedweek Mods have another option next weekend now...

Today is the best forecast yet since weather.com/Weather Channel had forecasts available for this year's USMTS Texas Spring Nationals on either last weekend's or this weekend's make-up dates!

Looks like just a 30% chance of r--- on Thursday morning between midnight & noon and that's it all the way from now through Sunday! With the paved pits helping of course, I got a feeling that the Spring Nats will go on as scheduled this week, practice and all!!! Let's hope it holds like that...

Still looking good!

Might have a little problem Thursday night -- that'll depend on timing. Could be after the races, could be before. The good news is, it comes, then it goes quickly according to the forecast and even at that, it's pretty isolated. Better chance of getting missed than hit. The other days & nights, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and only if necessary, Sunday afternoon, ALL LOOK GOOD!

You may roll with confidence!...and it's about that time...

Should be a bunch of Modified teams in and around Texas the next 3 weeks. Counting practice, you can make laps at Royal Purple Raceway for 4 nights at the Texas Spring Nationals THIS WEDNESDAY thru SATURDAY for a combined $10,000 to win. The next week, March 1-4, you can move 15 miles along I-10 and do it 3 more nights at Battleground Speedway's Southern Chill, go up to Fort Worth for the Texas World Dirt Track Championship for 3 nights or go out to Las Cruces for 3 nights and a day and run for $10,000 to win at Southern New Mexico Speedway. Then on March 9th and 10th, race for $8000 more -- $4000 in Waco and $4000 in Kennedale!

They had the full HotMod results posted last night but unfortunately, they are not there this morning.

Ryan Gustin won. The top 5 were all A-Mod drivers with Randy Timms ($100 hardcharger - gained 10 spots), Kelly Shryock, Shane Hebert and Steve Whiteaker, Jr. making it up. Mike Martin was sixth and the first non-A Mod driver across the stripe for an extra $100. That goes up to $150 tonight and $200 on Saturday night. Hebert and Whiteaker got together on the last lap while running 2nd & 3rd and fell back a couple of spots. Had that not happened, Lout (missing first name) or Carencro, Louisiana's Kevin Dupont would have been in line for that $100 hardcharger award. They both gained 9 spots and finished in the top ten.

Here's the guys that started the HotMod A-main. May have been before the redraw: Whittington/Hebert, Kuhalenk/Hessong, Gustin/Whiteaker, Shryock/Timms, Wright/Weselka, Minten/Seals, Martin/Oakes, Cambron/Lout, Dupont/Collins, Doyon/Metz, Walling/Allgayer, Legg/Minten.
