INAUGURAL SOUTHERN CHILL DATES CHANGED
Pure Stock, Hobby Stock, Limited Modifieds and Modifieds set to compete in the first 2012 event at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, Texas with the addition of the Eco Stock Class on March 2nd and 3rd.
Manvel, Texas; February 18th 2012 - - - This year the Battleground Speedway racing season will still kick off with the inaugural Southern Chill event at always fast 3/8 mile Highlands, Texas oval, however due to rain and competing events, the dates have been changed. Additionally, the event will now host five divisions competing for a piece of the $36,000 purse. Jesse Manning of Brazoria, Texas is promoting this two day event for Pure Stocks, Hobby Stocks, Limited Modifieds, Modifieds and has added Eco Stocks. The track will be open for practice on Thursday, March 1st. Friday, March 2nd will consist of hot laps and qualifying heat races for the Southern Chill, with the top 20 cars from each division competing for the first 12 starting positions for Saturday night’s A Main events on Saturday, March 3rd.
The Modified A Main will be 35 laps in length. The remaining class A Mains will be 30 laps long. Saturday racing will also include the C and B Mains to determine the remaining 12 positions in the Feature events.
All seating is General Admission and is $10.00 for adults, both days. Senior tickets are $8.00 each night and children 12 under are always free at Battleground Speedway. Pit passes for this special event will be $30.00. Coolers are welcome in the stands for a nominal fee of $5.00. It should be noted that cans only are allowed in the coolers.
