Green Valley Speedway’s 15th Annual Bama Bash Set to Roll March 1-3

Glencoe, Alabama – Next weekend the hills and valleys of Gadsden, Alabama will once again be filled with the roar of race engines as the drivers from around the country converge on the Green Valley Speedway for the Bama Bash. The 15th Annual Bama Bash will feature racing in 8 exciting divisions, which will be headlined by an unsanctioned $15,015 to win / $1,015 to start 75 lap Super Late Model main event. Also on the card will be a $2,015 to win Sportsman / Limited Late Model event and a $2,015 to win Crate Late Model event. “We are expecting a great group of cars and fans for this years Bama Bash. We have had a lot of calls and emails from all around the country. We want to invite everyone to come out and catch some great racing and some old fashioned fun next weekend.” said GVS Manager Adam Stewart.

Action is set to get under way on Thursday, March 1st, which has been designated as an open practice for all divisions. In order to accommodate all the racing that is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, track owner / promoter Dennis Harker has elected to break the racing action up into 2 sessions each day. The first session will begin each day at Noon and the evening sessions are slated to begin each day at 6 PM. There will be a break in between the 2 sessions, which will allow for track reworking and grooming. “It is very important to Mr. Harker and myself to run a timely show and give the fans the most entertainment for their money. We believe we have created a schedule that will be most conducive to providing that timely event and give us the best possible racing surface.” Stewart added.

Along with plenty of great on-track racing action Green Valley will also host several fan activities including it’s annual Bama Bash Tent Party at the conclusion of the racing events on Friday night and a driver autograph session on Saturday afternoon. Food, beverages (BYOB) and a live band will highlight the Bama Bash Tent Party. The Tent Party will also play host to a drive “meet and greet” where fans will have the opportunity to meet their favorite drivers. The driver autograph session is scheduled from 3:30 to 4:30 behind the main grandstand area.

The Bama Bash past winners’ list reads like a who’s who of Dirt Late Model racing including Ronnie Johnson, Clint Smith, Wendell Wallace, Ray Cook, Dale McDowell and Rick Eckert. Many of those past winners are expected back along with other touring and regional stars who will have to face an always tough to beat list of Green Valley Speedway regulars. Along with Supers, Crates and Sportsman the 8 division Bama Bash card will also feature racing in Outlaw Thunder Cars, Kajun Mini Stock Association Modified Minis, Street Stocks, Enduros and Pure Ponies.
