Fixin to build my engine and trans brackets. Right now I have it centered in the chassis. Would be be better there or off to the left?

I always left mine centered & set back as far as rules allowed, need to make sure there is clearance for headers, fuel pump, steering rod, etc. Never had a problem with just moving it all straight back.
Moving it to the left (which would be the only way to move it for oval) would put a lot of strain on the driveshaft IMO, unless you offset the rearend to the left also. Lots of unneccessary work IMO.

moving it left can help, but more than likely not worth the trouble you will have with headers

we've been offsetting a couple inches to the right actually, noticed another popular area builder also doing it.

the height. Get it up as high as you can. It will stick the RF and transfer weight the rear faster.
