Florence Speedway’s Spring 50 Set for March 17
UNION, KY – The 36th Annual “Spring 50” for Dirt Late Models is set for Saturday, March 17th at Florence Speedway in Union, KY.
It will be the 2012 season opener for the half-mile facility which also hosts the “Ralph Latham Memorial” on June 2 and, the “Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100 Presented by Lucas Oil” on Friday and Saturday, August 10th and 11th.
A $5,000 to win payday will be on the line for the Late Models. Also on the race card will be Open Wheel Modifieds with a $1,000 to win purse up for grabs.
Eddie Carrier Jr. of Salt Rock, WV is the defending race winner capturing his first-ever win at the track last year in this annual event which is one of dirt track racing longest continuous early season events.
The pit gates will open at 4 PM, with main gates opening at 5 PM. Hot laps will begin at 6 PM followed by time trials at 6:30 PM. Racing is slated to begin at 7:30 PM
