We run a 15% reduction with a Howe double pass, Adams pump on an aluminum open engine and run a 28-32 lb cap

The highest pressure that the rad mfg says. The higher the pressure the less water will boil. This is why NASCAR put a pressure valve on the cooling systems to keep cars from being able to run nose to tail longer.

Becarefull with the high pressure caps we tried a one higher then 28 lbs car ran cooler but the radiator hose blew up like a baloon. if you go higher make sure you do like the sprint cars do and use steel braided line you will be asking for trouble. But i agree 28 to 32 works fine.

Never had a problem with hoses running form 32-35lbs. We always used good hose though, like the enforced rubber suction hoses with the wire molded into the hose.
