The Southern Regional Racing Series began it's season at East Alabama Motor Speedway on Saturday night. 22 super late models would enter for the $3,000 to win event. Clint Smith would set fast time for the night.
The feature event would have many cautions before the race actually completed a lap. Clint Smith would retire for the night with motor problems before lap one.
Thomas and Reese would battle for the lead until Clanton made a three wide pass to gain the first place spot. Riley Hickman, who started 16th, made his way to the front to challenge Clanton for the lead.
Clanton edged out Hickman for the SRRS victory by only .298 seconds.
