Ponderosa Speedway Announces Incentives for Crate Late Model Racers

Junction City, KY- March 18, 2012- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz would like to announce an incentive package to get those drivers utilizing the Crate Engines, used in the Pro (Crate) Late Model division around the area, to compete with the regular Late Model division that will be competing at Ponderosa Speedway in 2012.

The two highest finishing drivers in the Late Model division in the Late Model feature at Ponderosa Speedway on a weekly basis will receive a bonus. The highest finishing driver utilizing a Crate engine will receive an extra $100 for their efforts, along with a trophy. The second highest finishing racer using a Crate engine will receive an extra $50 for their efforts. If a driver using a Crate engine wins the feature, that driver is not eligible for the bonus that evening, however, the next two highest finishing drivers that are using a Crate engine will be eligible for the bonus.

Ponderosa Speedway will have a pair of test and tune practice sessions prior to the start of the racing season on Friday April 6. The first practice day will be on Saturday afternoon March 24, while the final practice session will be on Friday evening March 30.

Ponderosa Speedway will feature four divisions of weekly racing competition during the 2012 racing campaign, with those being Late Models, Modifieds, Sportsman, and Street Stocks. Regular show events will see the Late Models race for $1,200 to win and $100 to start, Modifieds for $600 to win and $75 to start, Sportsman for $300 to win and $50 to start, and Street Stocks $200 to win and $40 to start.

The official green flag will drop on the 2012 race season at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday April 6 with a full program of racing action that will feature Late Models, Modifieds, Sportsman, and Street Stocks all in competition. RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions and must be in use at all times.

Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY. Larry Yantz is the track promoter and will present dirt track sports entertainment on Friday and selected Saturday evenings from April through October of the 2012 race season.
