oil filter problem

need help. Machine shop removed my oil filter fitting from block. Does anyone know where to find another fitting? I have another good block but trying to keep from using it as i tried to remove and they seem difficult to remove. Thanks josh

try this to remove the spare fitting - get a piece of emery cloth and wrap it around the fitting, rough side out, then use some pliers to work the fitting lose. this usually works and won't mess up the threads as long as you're smart with the amount of force you use.

Josh, i have had good luck using a spiral type easy out to remove them. Just polish out the inside with a sanding roll if the easy out leaves some marks.

Look up inside the fitting ... it's a hex hole. It's a large hex, and I didn't have an allen wrench that size. But I did have a large punch who's handle was the right size, and put a box wrench on that. Once I broke it loose, it came right out.

as mentioned above,there is a hex to remove/install these.
