Dennis Erb, Jr. Lays Down Top Ten in Spring Thaw; Eyes Trip to Brownstown

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team returned to Dirt Late Model competition on Saturday night, March 17 at the ultra-fast Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee. The 11th Annual 'Spring Thaw' was held at "The Gap" over the weekend and a $10,000 payday was on the line. Dennis Erb, Jr. laid down the twelfth fastest lap of the 22 competitors during qualifying and later lined up starting from the outside of the sixth row in the 60-lap feature event. In front of a huge crowd in the 'Spring Thaw,' Dennis was able to move up a couple of positions en route to a steady tenth place effort. Full results from Bulls Gap can be located online at www.volunteerspeedway.com.

“We had a decent run at Bulls Gap last weekend,” quoted the soft-spoken Erb earlier this week. “Qualifying was the name of the game and we were off just a little bit in time trials. It was hard to pass during the feature, but we were able to move up a couple of spots to salvage a top ten. We’ll just go back to work this week at the shop and get ready for Brownstown. Hopefully, the weather cooperates there this weekend and we can put on a good show.”

Dennis and the #28 team will now gear up for the 15th Annual ‘Indiana Icebreaker,’ which is scheduled for this Saturday evening, March 24 at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will once again preside over the one-day $10,000 to win program at the 1/4-mile, semi-banked fairgrounds venue. Dennis will roll into Brownstown as the current LOLMDS point leader and will look to better his twelfth place ‘Indiana Icebreaker’ finish from a year ago.
