Lake Cumberland Speedway Season Opener Rained Out; Reset for March 31

Burnside, KY-March 24, 2012- Lake Cumberland Speedway was set to kick off its 32nd season of dirt track racing entertainment on Saturday evening, but Mother Nature had other ideas and forced the cancellation of the evening’s racing activities.

Rain showers began falling around 5:15 local time and a steady rain that lasted for around one hour and fifteen minutes would force track officials to have to cancel the evening’s racing. All pit passes and general admission tickets from the March 24 rainout event will be good this Saturday March 31 or at any other event over the course of the 2012 racing season at Lake Cumberland Speedway. Track promoter Brandon Hardgrove and staff want to thank everyone that had come out to support the track and would like to apologize for any inconveniences caused by the rainout.

Lake Cumberland Speedway will attempt to get its 2012 season underway this coming Saturday night March 31 with a full program of racing competition featuring Modifieds ($600 to win), Super Dirt Stocks ($300 to win), Sportsman ($250 to win), and Front Wheel Drives ($100 to win), with Super Late Models eligible to practice. The Super Late Models will make their official 2012 debut on Saturday April 7.

Lake Cumberland Speedway is located at 1 Racetrack Road, just outside of Burnside, KY, just past the entrance to General Burnside Island State Park. Brandon Hardgrove is the track promoter and presents dirt track racing entertainment on Saturday evenings.
