Ray Cook Climbs Ten Spots in Indiana Icebreaker; Eyes Jackson and Lonestar this Weekend

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) The D&R Motorsports team and driver Ray Cook resumed the 2012 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule on Saturday night, March 24 at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. The annual running of the 'Indiana Icebreaker' drew 44 competitors to the 1/4-mile, semi-banked fairgrounds venue and all eyes were on the $10,000 payday. Ray ran sixth in his loaded heat race and fifth in his B-Main, but later took use of a series emergency provisional to gain access into the 50-lap feature event.

After rolling off from the outside of the thirteenth row in the 'Indiana Icebreaker,' Ray was able to pick off ten competitors en route to a sixteenth place finish. He currently finds himself eleventh in the latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings following Brownstown. Full results can be located online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Next up for the #53 team will be two more Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdowns this upcoming weekend (March 30-31) in the states of Mississippi and Texas. On Friday night, the Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, Mississippi will play host to the ‘Southern 50,’ which will boast a $10,000 top prize. A similar one-day show will then take place on Saturday evening at the Lonestar Speedway in Kilgore, Texas.
