Wendell Wallace Puts New Barry Wright Car in Victory Lane at Magnolia!

(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Wendell Wallace, of Batesville, Arkansas, kicked-off his 2012 campaign in winning fashion on Saturday night, March 24 by picking up a victory at the Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi! After spending all week in Cowpens, South Carolina putting a new Barry Wright racecar together, Wendell made a last minute decision to stop at "The Mag" to shake down the newly-built car. He timed in tenth fastest during qualifying to earn the outside fifth row starting spot in the weekly main event.

Behind the wheel of the duct-taped #6m BWRC, Wendell drove to the front of the field and took the lead in the waning laps of the A-Main. He then garnered the $1,100 top prize by defeating Jamie Tollison, Stacy Caldwell, Caleb Myers, and Tony Shelton. Full results from Wendell's season opener can be accessed online at www.magnoliadirt.com.

“I really liked the feel of the new Barry Wright car last Saturday at Magnolia,” quoted Wallace earlier this week. “At least for one night, it had the feel that I am looking for in a racecar. Hopefully that continues and we can run up front at Jackson and Lonestar, as well as throughout the whole season. I have to thank Tim Logan and everyone at Barry Wright Race Cars for their hard work. It was a long couple of days in South Carolina, but everything seems to be clicking pretty good so far!”

The Wendell Wallace Autosports team will return to dirt-slinging action this upcoming weekend (March 30-31) in a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battles in the states of Mississippi and Texas. On Friday night, the Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, Mississippi will play host to a $10,000 to win showdown, while the Lonestar Speedway in Kilgore, Texas will do the same on Saturday evening. Additional information on both the ‘Southern 50’ and the ‘High Banks Havoc’ can be viewed by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.
