Will a 15" 4 blade fan and shroud cool a late model? It seems most everyone I know uses 18" fans. Anyone try this with any luck?? Thanks..

i would bolt the 18" up and never worry about it again.

We ran the 18" for a couple of years and this year we went to the 15" as per our engine builders suggestions as we were having to run a lot of tape on the radiator to keep heat in the engine...And then idling, waiting to go on the track, it would cool itself off and crap all over itself for a lap or two till it got heat back into it...Hopefully the 15" will keep the heat in a little better...If there is an issue, takes just a couple of minutes to change back...

I ran an 18" all last year with a fan shroud and shrouds in front of the radiator. I had a hard time keeping heat in the engine. I put on a 15" for the start of this season, still using the old shroud. Comes up to temp better and hasn't run hot yet. Knock on wood. We'll see how it does during the heat of the summer.

I use a 15" 4 blade with an alcohol engine, no shroud and never have any problems. Usually have to block off some of the radiator on cooler nights to
keep heat in the motor.

If you are on alky, put a 180 thermostat in it. I done this for years with success.
