Ponderosa Speedway Alters Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Model Division Tire Rules

Junction City, KY- March 30, 2012- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz would like to announce a slight alteration in the tire rule for the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Model division at Ponderosa Speedway for the 2012 racing season.

Those cars that compete in the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Model division that are utilizing an Open Engine package will now have to compete on tires that durometer a minimum of 60 on all four corners of the race cars. The previous reading was 62, but has been lowered to 60 after consulting with tire representatives from both Hoosier and American Racer and some racers around the area as well, it was determined that there were not many new tires of the hard compounds that would durometer 62 when they were checked, thus the number has been adjusted to 60. The tires on both the front and rear of the race cars must punch at minimum of 60 when they are durometered. Those cars that utilize a Crate Engine package will still only have to have tires that durometer a minimum of 48 on the front and rear of the race cars.

Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY. Larry Yantz is the track promoter and will present dirt track sports entertainment on Friday and selected Saturday evenings from April through October of the 2012 race season.
