After a failed qualifying attempt Wednesday Terry Phillips took his mulligan and wins the A-main Friday night setting himself up for the big show tonight and and a chance for the $15,000 and being crowded the "King of America" modified champion.
Starting on the front row Phillips took the lead and never looked back, leading all 35 laps but not running away from the field he still looked like he could win the big one tonight.
Starting 14th in the field Randy Timms slowly made his way to 2nd place, with a little more time and track Timms might have had a shot at Phiilips. That did not happen and he had to settle for 2nd.
Running 2nd for a large part of the race 15 year old Lucas Schotts gave 2nd to Timms as he drifted just a little to high in one of the turns and let Timms take second away.
Race fans we are all set up for a great race tonight at the Hummer, weather looks good and their have been plenty of seats available so load up the car and come on down to see this race in person. This the biggest paying race in the state of Kansas except the race at Kansas Speedway, $130,000 purse, $1,5oo to start the A-Main. Enjoy.
