2011 Southern All Star Champion Billy Ogle Jr Leads Strong Field For 17th Annual Shamrock

CLEVELAND, TN—The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will kick off the 30th Anniversary Tour of the longest running dirt series in the country with the 17th Annual Shamrock 50 at the Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, TN., paying $10,000 to win for the 50 lap event Saturday night April 7th and the 2011 Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Champion Billy Ogle Jr of Knoxville, TN., will be in top form as he will back to defend his 2011 title and try to take home a win in the Shamrock and set his sights on the 2012 prize for his second series championship.

This year should be a wide open year to chase the series title as this is the latest that the series has ever started a season and with no races having been run, it might be a good time to chase for a series championship that pays $10,000 to win and also this might be the year to run for that rookie of the year title as well.

The 2011 points battle came down to the closet on series history as Ogle Jr., beat out William Thomas Phenix City, AL., on the last race of the season at Cleveland, with David Payne of Murphy, NC., third and Brian Reese of Sharpsburg, GA., fourth all these drivers are expected to be in action this Saturday night as well as Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN., 4 time Southern All Star Champion Clint Smith of Senoia, GA., Southern All Star Champion Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, GA., Ray Cook of Murphy, NC., Southern All Star Champion Randy Weaver of Crossville, TN., Jake Knowles of Tyrone, GA., Shane Clanton of Locust Grove, GA., Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN., Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY., Skip Arp of Georgetown, TN., Chad Ogle of Knoxville, TN., Mike Weeks of Friendsville, TN., and Mark Vineyard of Knoxville, TN.
