COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Doubleheader This Weekend
Beebe, Arkansas (04/10/12) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Model tour will host a pair of events this weekend with a doubleheader in Arkansas.
With the opening two rounds of the 2012 campaign contested in late March Texarkana, Texas driver, Jon Mitchell, has broke out of the gates as the point's leader. He is trailed by eight points by Kuntz & Co. Racing Engine Rookie of the Year contender, Larry Campbell, who claimed the opening night win at USA Speedway. Rounding out the top ten in the current standings are Robert Baker, Timothy Culp, Johnny Virden, Kyle Beard, Morgan Bagley, Billy Moyer Jr., Gary Christian, Brandon Smith, and Jon Kirby.
While Campbell leads the Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year standings, he is closely pursued by a talented rookie crop including Robert Baker, Travis Ashley, and Chandler Petty.
With the opening weekend jitters in the rearview mirror the stars and cars of the CCSDS will look to settle into their groove this weekend with a pair of events in Arkansas. On Friday, April 13th a $2,000-to-win/$300-to-start event will be held at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas) as a talented field of drivers is expected to be on hand to get track time for some of the upcoming mega-events at the 3/8 mile oval. On Saturday night the tour will make its first-ever trip to Diamond Park Speedway (Nashville, Arkansas) for a $2,000-to-win/$400-to-start program. Several improvements have been made to the facility over the off-season, including new dirt. Excitement is at an all-time high for this event. Gates open at 5pm with racing action at 8pm.
