Smoky Mt Speedway Next up For Southern All Stars
MARYVILLE, TN—The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series will return to the Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN., on Saturday night April 14th with the WIMZ Classic Rock 103.5 Racing With The Stars 50 lap Super Late Model event that will pay $5,000 to win. This will be the first of three races set for the 4/10th mile clay oval and as always it will be a great show for the racers as well as the fans.
The Southern All Stars kicked off the 2012 season last weekend at Cleveland Speedway and Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN., taking the win, so this means that the battle for the 2012 series points title is still up for grabs as 2011 series champion Billy Ogle Jr of Knoxville, TN., will begin defending his title at one of his favorite tracks.
Along with Ogle drivers that are expected to be in attendance include Randy Weaver of Crossville, TN., Vic Hill of Mosheim, TN., Chad Ogle of Knoxville, TN., Ross White of Karns, TN., Brian Reese of Sharpsburg, GA., Skip Arp of Georgetown, TN., Mark Vineyard of Knoxville, TN., Steve Smith of Powell, TN., Mike Weeks of Friendsville, TN., Tommy Kerr of Rockford, TN., David Payne of Murphy, NC., Mark Douglas of Knoxville, TN., Shane Smith of Dade City, FL., and Mike Asberry of Crossville, Tn., just to name a few along with many more drivers from across the southeast.
Action will get underway at 3 pm with pits opening, grandstand and tier parking open at 5 pm, drivers meeting at 6:30 pm and hot laps start at 7 pm. Admission is pit pass $35, tier parking $20 and grandstands $15.
