Richmond Raceway Gears Up for an Action Packed 2012 Season!
RICHMOND, KY (April 09, 2012)-Richmond Raceway track promoters Joey and Tiffany Tackett are gearing up for what looks to be the most action packed season yet under the Tackett’s promotion.
As off season improvements continue to be made, anticipation is building on the upcoming season. Reconfigured lighting on the front stretch, new clay, brush clearing, expanded pit parking, and a new staging area are just a few of many improvements. The 2012 season kicks off in less than three weeks with a Test and Tune set for April 28. Gates will open at 12:00 PM (Noon) with practice from 2:00 PM through dusk. The grandstand area will be open to the public for FREE during this Test and Tune while a pit is $15.
On Saturday May 5, the Open Wheel Modified division competes for $800 to win in Mayhem Motorsports Night. The Coyote 100.7 FM Late Models will not be in competition that night but are welcome for practice. The pit area opens at 4:30 p.m. followed by the grandstand area at 6:00 p.m. with hot laps slated for 6:45 p.m. Grandstand admission for this season opener is $10 for adults and $3 for kids ages 6 through 12. Pit Admission is $25 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6 through 12. Kids ages 5 and under are admitted FREE to Richmond Raceway.
A full program of racing in all divisions is on tap for Saturday May 12 with Mothers and Others Night. The Coyote 100.7 FM Late Models, Open Wheel Modifieds, Sportsman, Road Hogs, and Four Cylinders will all be in action on May 5. Grandstand Admission is $12 for adults and $3 for kids ages 6 through 12. Pit Admission is $30 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6 through 12. Kids ages 5 and under are admitted FREE to Richmond Raceway.
