Ponderosa Speedway Now Idle on Friday April 27; Racing Resumes on Friday May 4
Junction City, KY- April 22, 2012- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz have been forced to cancel their racing program scheduled for Friday April 27 at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” due to some technical difficulties with track equipment.
A parts failure on the track’s new in-ground scale that must be sent back to the scale’s manufacturer is the primary reason for the cancelling of the program scheduled for April 27. The malfunctioned parts could not be repaired and returned by the time the set to race on April 27. Also the public address system is going to be overhauled as well and the Yantz family decided to take this week off to make the necessary repairs to make sure that racers and fans alike enjoy a fair and enjoyable experience. Racing will resume on Friday May 4.
The May 4 racing program will feature Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models, Clayton Homes Modifieds, Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care Sportsman, and Bob Allen Motor Mall Street Stocks all in action in a full program of weekly racing series competition.
Activities for the Friday April 27 racing event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m, while the general admission area opens at 5:00 p.m., with the drivers meeting set for 7:00 p.m. Practice laps will begin at 7:15 p.m., followed by time trials at 7:45 p.m., with racing set for the green flag at 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices for the April 27 racing event in the general admission area will be $12 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, and children ages 5 and under admitted free with a paid adult. A pit pass will be $30.
