As a racecar owner and driver, promoters take advantage.
1.) We purchase a car
2.) We purchase a motor
3.) We pay 8 dollars a gallon
4.) We pay fuel expense to get there
5.) And we pay pit passes to race

I feel the promoters need to promote more and give the guy putting on the show a break.
1.) One car owner, one driver should get in the pits free
2.) The track promoter charges the fans, the venders, the photographers, and the teams
3.) These 35 dollar pit passes are ridiculous
4.) We race for the hobby and love for the sport
5.) And if you win, the only person who makes money is the promoter, and the racer is lucky to brake even.

Maybe the promoter needs to pay the cars to show up, and earn their job title PROMOTER and promote the race.
Thank you, I just vented, I won a race but I don't want to spend 400 dollars to win 200 every week.

And the promoter leases the track. Or owns it (paid to buy it)
Pays all track help.
Pays track prep crew.
Pays for Advertising
Pays for electricity and water
Pays for insurance (not just for those in pits but liability ins for track in case a fan gets hurt)
Pays for fuel for grader and any other track equipment
Pays to maintain track equipment
Often pays sanctioning fees
Pays for track security staff
Pays to maintain the grounds
Pays purse
Pays point fund
Pays taxes on racetrack
Pays to have Ambulance & fire crew at the track
And if there is a rainout loses all money spent on track prep and advertising
If weather looks iffy has to choose between racing and losing more money due to a small crowd or canceling, still losing money and having to listen to drivers complain because it never actually rained and they think the race should have been held.

let me see here now i work all year to race 16 shows and go broke
promotor works to run 16 shows to pay for the years tracklease/payments
and then other promotors say they saw him in florida for speedweeks
promoting is not easy by any means but neather is spending 200 per week to receive 60 for the nights show while my pit passes donot go down yet he lets in a carload or bus load for 25.00 on a special and they buy the overpriced food. not trying to be negetive but its going the wrong way.
put another way how much does a ball player pay to compete
its time for the crowd to pay for the drivers to be there.and on top of that receive a 1099 for winning to pay taxs on.to go even more broke. tell me i am wrong .

oldgold, When you draw 80,000 fans per race and your track/series gets a 6 billion dollar tv deal I'm sure promoters will pay race teams like ball players. But you better be one of the top drivers or you still will not get paid big bucks.

Or you could lease a track and promote races there 1 night a week to pay for you to race your car the other nights. Since all promoters are getting rich.
