Curtis Roberts Captures First Win of 2012 At Mt Pleasant Speedway’s Y4 Motorsports Marketing Special.
(Coleman, Michigan) Curtis Roberts, of Coleman, Michigan, picked up his first feature win of the young 2012 racing season on Friday night, April 27th at the Mt Pleasant Speedway in Mt Pleasant, Michigan! Driving his famous 9R MasterSbilt Gen-X machine, Curtis drew the 2nd starting position the first heat and after leading the first 6 laps dropped to second place at the checkered flag and then redrew the 6th starting position for the 25-lap feature event. The driver known as the "Coleman Comet" grabbed the top spot at lap 11 from Dona Marcouiller and led the rest of the way to claim the $1,200 payday over Zach Olger, Brandon Thirlby, Eric Spangler, and Mark Andersen.
“I have to thank Y4 Motorsports Marketing’s Chris Ryan for sponsoring the race,” stated Roberts earlier today. “It was neat to give them their first victory in motorsports marketing , this race was very special to him after losing his friend and founder of Y4 Motorsports Marketing Jeremy (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)man only 2 short months ago.” Curtis and S.N.R. Racing are looking for 2012 to be a stellar year with a lot of new things coming together and the cars and motor program shaping up to be right where they need to be.
Next up for Curtis will be a trip to Ohio for two more shows over the upcoming May 4-5 weekend. The Sunoco American Late Model Series will sanction a $2,000 to win program on Friday night at the Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio and another $2,000 to win on Saturday at Freemont Speedway in Freemont, Ohio.
