CARTERSVILLE, GA - NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series officials have adjusted the Bonus Points system for drivers competing in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series. Drivers may earn 25 Bonus Points for each four consecutive weeks of competition at any NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series sanctioned track.
“This change was made because many NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series tracks are running limited schedules this season,” NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Founder and Director Mike Vaughn said. “We wanted to give drivers an incentive to support other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series tracks when their home tracks are off for a week.”
NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series drivers can earn up to 100 Bonus Points that are added to their best 14-week point totals one of two ways. They can earn 25 Bonus Points for each four consecutive weeks of NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series competition, and they can earn 25 Bonus Points for each NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division event they compete in during the 2012 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season.
The 2012 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series 27-week season will run through September 26, 2012. The 2012 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Champion will earn $10,000 out of the $20,000 point fund. The point fund will pay back through the Top 10 in the point standings at the end of the season.
