Rick Eckert Second in World of Outlaws Points Heading into 311 and Swainsboro

(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) The Rick Eckert Racing team resumed the World of Outlaws Late Model Series tour over the April 27-28 weekend in the states of Alabama and Tennessee. On Friday night, the North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama played host to a $10,000 to win show. Rick Eckert timed in thirteenth fastest during the qualifying session and later took home the win in his heat race. After drawing the fifth starting spot prior to the 50-lapper, Rick methodically worked his way past three competitors during the caution-plagued race en route to a runner-up performance behind only winner Brad Neat.

The dirt-slinging action quickly shifted to the bad-fast Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee on Saturday evening for the $10,000 to win 'Outlaw Sizzler 50.' Rick laid down the fourth quickest lap during time trials and later ran second in his loaded heat race. "Scrub" once again drew the fifth starting spot for the 50-lap main event, but slipped back to seventh in the caution-free headliner, which was held in front of the largest crowd ever at the storied facility. Rick has now jumped up to second in the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings following the doubleheader weekend. Complete results can be accessed online at www.worldofoutlaws.com.

Next up for the #24 team will be two more World of Outlaws Late Model Series point battles over the upcoming May 4-5 weekend. On Friday night, the 311 Motor Speedway in Madison, North Carolina will put up a $10,000 winner’s check, while the Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, Georgia will do the same for the cars and stars of the WOOLMS tour on Saturday evening. Both programs this weekend will be headlined by 50-lap feature events. Additional information can be obtained by clicking on www.worldofoutlaws.com.
