35th TN Memorial at Cleveland Speedway awaits Southern All Stars travelers Sat May 12

HUNTSVILLE, AL (May 6, 2012)—The Cars and Stars of the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series will head back to East Tennessee on Saturday Night May 12th for the 35th Annual Tennessee Memorial Race at the Ronnie Willkomm owned Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland TN.

This will be the second of five scheduled appearances for the Southern All Stars to the 58-year-old Cleveland Speedway. Operations of the 30-year-old tour were recently sold to Huntsville, AL native Matt Wagner from Hoosier Racing Tire’s Charles Roberts and David Miller. Also, the staff of the Southern All Stars would like to thank Mr. Roberts and Mr. Miller for their service to the series and wish them both the best of luck with future endeavors. Mr. Wagner becomes only the third different owner in the series’ history.

In the April 7 appearance by SAS to Cleveland Speedway, Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN captured $10,000 during the Shamrock 50 event. The following week, Vic Hill of Mosheim, TN claimed $5,000 by the SAS appearance at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN.

The SAS Late Models will be competing for a $3,500 to win / $300 to start main event with a complete show of Practice, Qualifying, Last Chance Races and the 50-lap main event. Also competing will be the Limited Late Models/Crates racing for a 30-lap $1,200 to win main event and also A-Hobby, B-Hobby, Pony’s and Front Wheel Drives. Southern All Stars Rules and Procedures will be in affect at all times while transponders and RaceCeivers are mandatory for competition. The SAS entry fee is $100.00.

The gates will swing open at 3:00 pm on May 12th with Grandstand Gates opening at 4:00 pm while the Driver’s Meeting is slated for 6:30 pm and Hot Laps scheduled shortly after at around 7:00 pm. Adult General Admission will be $15.00 with Children ages 6 through 11 admitted for $3.00 while Children under six will be admitted for free. Adult Pit Passes will be $30.00 with Children ages 6 through 11 admitted for $10.00 while Children under six will be admitted for free.

Turn left (back under the overpass) on Hwy. 11, and go two blocks (past the car lots & Mr. Zip,) the Speedway is on the left.
