(Hesston, PA) The “Dirt Doctor” at Hesston Speedway has the 4/10 mile supertrack ready to go for 2012! The most exciting season ever in the 51-year history of the track begins on Saturday night, May 12 with the “2012 Ice Buster.” 2 weeks later, on Sunday, May 27, the Speedmonster Super Series blasts off with the 3 State Flyers opener at the “Superthunder Road” mega-event. “Motor Mountain” is schedule to pay out over $250,000 this season with payoff increases throughout the events.

“Motor Mountain” will feature 7 different classes of racing in 2012. 6 Hi-Octane regular events will feature the Late Model Sportsman (limited/crate/steel block late models), B-Cadets (street/pro-stock), Hobby (pure/strictly stock), Mod-4 and Roadrunners (fwd stock 4-cylinder) with rules similar to 2011. Crate late models can use a 12” spoiler and get a weight break at all races.

The Super Late Models will headline on 6 nights in the Speedmonster Super Series. All Speedmonster Super Series events will feature Semi-Late Model Sportsman, A-Cadets and Hobby-Modifieds. These events will utilize more open rules where every car in the region in those classes will be competitive and legal using weight and spoiler variances. Even though the rules will allow more open cars to run in a higher weight category, cars legal by the regular rules will still be competitive with minimal changes in their lower weight categories. Roadrunners will also compete at the Speedmonster events. The PASS 305 Sprints are also scheduled to make 2 appearances this season.

The powerful Late Model Sportsman will race 25 laps for $800 to win, $100 to start and $75 for non-qualifers at the “Ice Buster” on May 12. B-Cadets will race 20 laps for $400 to win, $60 to start and $50 for non-qualifiers. Hobby will run a 15 lap feature paying $200 to win, $40 to start and $30 for non-qualifiers. Pit gates will open at 3:00 with grandstands opening at 4:00. Pill draw cutoff and mandatory drivers meeting will be at 4:30. The warm-ups for the B-Cadets, Hobby, Mod-4 and Roadrunners will begin at 5:00 followed by heats for those classes at 5:30 pm then Late Model Sportsman warm-ups.
