The ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series continues it growth trend booking over twice as many shows than in its inaugural year in 2011. 2012 brings about some 20 plus shows and a $40,000 point fund. However this month is now known as "May Madness" or as some refer to it as "Money Month" with over $130,000 in purse money being paid out to the teams.
"When we started ULTIMATE in 2011 we promised the teams several things in particular they were concerned about" said Series owner Stan Lester. "1) $40,000 point fund. 2) Getting them paid right after the race 3) Doing tire samples and lab testing from each race and posting the results at the next event. We did those things as promised and also continue to do so today. I also assured them if they supported us in 2011 we would get them additional events in 2012. Thats happened. If teams will continue to support us, we will able able to get the purses increased in 2013 plus possibly some tow money for each event. Right now we are on track to do that. If they support the series, we will in turn give back. Together we can build the absoulute best regional Super late model series in the country".
May 5th Volunteer Speedway $5000 to win (won by Chad Ogle)
May 12th Toccoa Speedway $4000 to win
May 18th County Line Speedway $4000 to win
May 19th Virginia Motor Speedway $10,000 to win ($200 tow money non qualifiers)
May 25th 411 Speedway $4000 to win
May 26th Smokey Mountain Speedway $4000 to win
The ULTIMATE Super late model series is currently considering working with other regional series to form partnerships across the country.
"We have some great news coming in the way of sponsorships in 2013 for the series" said Lester. "It will be a great benefit to ULTIMATE teams and to that of the other series partnering with us. Its time we got NON Racing related sponsors into the series and thats coming soon".
