I've heard that rear leaf springs give up after so many races. Should they be replaced periodically? the car runs on a 4/10 and 3/8 mile mild bank clay track. The 4/10 track has been fairly smooth, 3/8 very rough and wet. right now it has afco 159# R.R. 138# L.R. Also any opinions or advice of afco vs landrum

Both are basically the same. A leaf spring looses its arch when it becomes weak. Here is a link to show what I'm speaking of:http://www.hotrodhotline.com/md/html/spring_basics.php Look down where it says free arch. Determine what the arch should be on the ones you have. I couldn't tell ya what they should be, maybe call who made them?If the race car is maintaining the ride heights then you are fine.

The loss of arch is the key indicator, keeo up with it and re-arch as neccessary, you must have sufficient arch and spring rate to prevent going reverse arc under dynamic loading.

Cold rolling will restore the arch.
