CLMA DIRTcar Series Presented by Indy Screen Print Gets Ready for Busiest Month In Series History!

Brighton, CO (May 24th) - The Championship Late Model Association DIRTcar Series Presented by Indy Screen Print will be back in action for the first time in almost three months. After our season opener at the Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 7th, the series has not been able to get in a race with three races being re-scheduled due to weather and one race canceled due to a legal battle over the ownership of the track. The month of June will be the busiest in series history with 6 races in a 5 weekend stretch. The CLMA DIRTcar Northern Series Presented by Indy Screen Print will be racing three times: Saturday, June 2nd at Gillette Thunder Speedway in Gillette,WY and June 29th & 30th at Sweetwater Speedway in Rock Springs, WY. The CLMA DIRTCar Southern Series Presented by Indy Screen Print will also be racing three times: June 8th & 9th at Aztec Speedway in Aztec, NM and Sunday, June 17th at Thomas County Speedway in Colby, KS.
The CLMA DIRTcar Northern Series Presented by Indy Screen Print was scheduled to kick off the month of June with a double header at Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, SD and at Gillette Thunder Speedway in Gillette Thunder Speedway in Gillette, WY on June 1st & 2nd, but due to the legal battle over the ownership of Black Hills Speedway we have decided to cancel that race. So we will be having a one day show at Gillette Thunder Speedway on Saturday, June 2nd. This race will pay $1,200 to win and $225 to start. There is still a chance that Gillette Thunder Speedway will add a night of racing on Friday, June 1st that will include a DIRTcar Late Model race and this would give guys a chance to race two nights. More updated information will be available soon. Eddie Kirchoff was the winner of all three races at Gillette Thunder Speedway in 2011. We are expecting drivers from Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, and North Dakota.
The CLMA DIRTcar Southern Series Presented by Indy Screen Print will get back under way on Friday, June 8th and Saturday, June 9th at Aztec Speedway in Aztec, NM. The first night of racing will pay $1,500 to win and $225 to start. The second night of racing will pay $2,500 to win and $300 to start. Last year the series visited the track for the first time for four races. Kelly Boen won 2 races and Garrett Alberson and Jeep Berry picked up one win each. We are expecting a great field of drivers from Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming to be at these races.
On Sunday, June 17th, the CLMA DIRTcar Southern Series will be bringing the late models back to Thomas County Speedway in Colby, KS for the first time since 2005 when Kelly Boen picked up the win with the WDRA. This will be the first trip in to Thomas County Speedway in series history for the CLMA DIRTcar Series. This race will pay $1,200 to win and $225 to start. There will also be two DIRTcar Colorado Limited Late Model races this weekend on Friday, June 15th at Phillips County Raceway in Holyoke, CO and Saturday, June 16th at I-76 Speedway in Ft. Morgan, CO. We are hoping for the chance to race three times in three days and that we will have a great car count. We are expecting drivers from Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, South Dakota, Kansas, and Nebraska to make the trip to Thomas County Speedway.
We will be finishing up the busy month of June when the CLMA DIRTcar Northern Series Presented by Indy Screen Print returns to Sweetwater Speedway in Rock Springs, WY for the first time since 2009 on June 29th & 30th. Dean Moore and Eddie Kirchoff picked up wins at Sweetwater Speedway with the CLMA DIRTcar Series in 2009. We are expecting cars from Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, Utah, Montanna, and maybe Oregon for this race. Both nights of racing will pay $1,200 to win and $225 to start.
