CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division J.T. Kerr Memorial 40 on Saturday night, June 2 at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN will now pay $4,000-to-win thanks to J.T. Kerr Racing Equipment in Rockford, TN. The race will honor the memory of East Tennessee racing legend the late J.T. Kerr.

That will make for a possible $6,000-to-win weekend for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division, as Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA, just outside Chattanooga, TN on the Tennessee-Georgia state line, will present a 40-lap $2,000-to-win race for the series on Friday night, June 1.

J.T. Kerr passed away on October 23, 2011 at age 81. Kerr’s motorsports legacy included accomplishments as both a driver and a businessman as the proprietor of J.T. Kerr Racing Equipment.

He was an active driver well into his 60s, and in 1993 at the age of 63, Kerr was the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Championship Runner-Up with 18 victories at 411 Motor Speedway when it was pavement track.
