14 races on my car since I picked it up used and still working the bugs out. Any reason or has anyone ever seen an IMCA mod with the front shocks mounted outside of the A-arms? Both front shocks on my car are mounted in front of the upper a-arm and run down to the front of the bottom A-arm. Looking at the other cars at my track and there is no other car set up like that. All the other cars have theirs mounted through the top A-arm to the middle of the bottom A-arm.

Doesn't hurt anything as long as there isn't any extreme angle forward or backward.

Pretty sure they are mounted too low regardless. I only have about 4" of shock travel on a 7" shock. Would explain why I'm burying the indicator every time out. I upped it to an 800Lb spring this week and still buried the indicator. We got to lookin at it and theres only about 4" of shaft showing on the shock. Then a driver asked why they whre mounted outside the A-arms. I told him, I dont know, thats how I got it. He had me look at the 3 cars next to mine and I scoped out others while walking around and all the other cars have theirs mounted inside.

Yeah, but, you're using metric lowers. They aren't as long and usually if you run them inside the uppers will hit the shocks. Especially with the non adjustable uppers. I have seen metrics with them in the middle, but, most I have seen are on the outside. 4" of travel isn't bad.

You want travel in both directions. 7"/2=3.5" That pretty close.
Figure in the motion ratio and see how much the wheel is moving per shock travel unit.

My metric has the shocks inside. It's real close though.

So I've been able to match up and figure out what 3 of the 4 shocks on the car. The exception being the right front. Heres the numbers that I can get off of it. 1037 B46 02101c c16255. Seems to be a different numbering sequence compared to the others. Any suggestions?
