FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division Schedule Update
Carnesville, GA (May-30) Due to the amount of interest in the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division National event scheduled on June 30th at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH, the FASTRAK Racing Series, in conjunction with Cleveland County Speedway officials in Lawndale, NC have made the decision to postpone the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division event slated for June 8th.
“There has been a lot of interest in the Eldora event on June 30th” said Michael Hurley VP of Operations of FASTRAK. “While the jury is still out on the economy, on the basis of the number of calls we’re getting at Corporate with regard to Eldora, it appears as though the grip the economy has had on the racing community may be easing. In addition, fuel prices are lower than they have been in some time. Subsequently, there are a lot of race teams expressing interest in this event and we want to accommodate them. The FASTRAK Racing Series is and has always been about “grass roots” racing. What bigger stage is there than racing at Eldora?
“In years past, the FASTRAK Racing Series has routinely built into its schedule a period during the summer where race teams can spend time with their families. While most often is the case, we’ll see many of our teams competing on the local level during the break, the financial demands are not as intense and it always seems to result in seeing some surprising performances at Eldora. The break gives race teams an opportunity to improve their programs and be on top of their game by the time we get to what is one of the most prestigious venues in dirt track racing”
Hurley went on to say “We’d like to thank everyone at Cleveland County Speedway for their cooperation. This could not have played out any better. Not only will our race teams have time to prepare for the upcoming event at Eldora on June 30th, they will have time to spend with their families during the break as well before heading into a very busy July and August”
